FAQ

Can I log entries for multiple babies?

Yes, you can create profiles for as many babies as you want. Each baby has their own individual feed, and you can easily switch between them.

Do I have to create an account?

Yes, the app requires new users to create an account. This guarantees that you will not lose the data you have logged if there is a problem with your device. You can preview the app before signing in if you want to get a feel for how the app works.

Can several people log entries collectively?

Yes, the Baby Steps app allows you to invite as many caregivers as you want (family, friends, nanny, daycare, etc.) All caregivers can log new entries or simply follow your baby’s feed.

Is my data backed up?

Yes, your data is automatically backed up in the cloud. If your baby has multiple caregivers or if you use multiple devices, the data will be synced automatically across all devices.

Can I share my baby’s charts?

Yes, all types of charts (bar charts, growth charts, milestones timeline) can be shared as images with anyone you want. Send the images directly by email, text message, or with your favorite app.

Can I use the app on Android?

No, the Baby Steps app is currently available for iPhone (iOS) only. While there is no timeline for offering the app on Android, we plan on evolving Baby Steps into a cross-platform product.

When should I start using the app?

There is no bad time to start logging your baby’s daily activity and gain useful insights. We recommend setting up the app and inviting future caregivers ahead of the baby’s birth, if possible.

Until what age can I use the app?

The app is optimized for the first three years of a baby’s life. But you can continue to use the app as long as you want after that time. Many entry types (sleep, food, growth, etc.) are relevant for any age.

What data is being collected?

The only personal information we ask you for is your name (which is used by other caregivers to identify you), and your email. We also store the information you log for your baby, and usage statistics.

Can I export my data?

Yes, you can export your data anytime as a JSON or a CSV file. The data can be filtered to a specific type of entries (e.g. just bottles), a specific time range (e.g. last 30 days), or a specific baby if you use the app for multiple babies.
